We have a great new display on early Illinois history, courtesy of Bill Wilson and the Illinois Society of the War of 1812.  This 3D exhibit is built to look like a small fort or blockhouse.  Each side has a full color poster depicting various events in our early history.

American Indian Display

Courtesy of Rich and Pat Bagby, we have a wonderful display of Native American artifacts in our display case this month.  These items were collected on their travels all across America and include interesting articles from tribes ranging from Alaska to the Southwest.  There are musical instruments like drums and rainsticks.  They’ve brought in arrowheads, totem poles, kachinas, masks and pottery.  Also included is an actual papoose used to carry babies.  Outside the display case we even have a ladder the Pueblo Indians use to get into their homes.  You’ll enjoy seeing this large, interesting collection.
