Family Reading Night

Join us Thursday, Nov. 17 from 7-8pm for storytime fun with Loretta Haynes!  There will be stories, games, songs and puppets.  You could also win a great attendance prize package featuring “Cars 2”.

Book Talk Here October 19

Join us Wednesday, October 19 at 7pm for Fr. Jack Frerker’s visit with his latest novel, “Recollections”.  Fr. Jack will read from the book and answer your questions.  He will have books available for purchase and will be happy to sign them.

We have plenty of pocket schedules on hand for both Central and Mater Dei high schools, so you’ll never have to miss a game.  Pick up one or both and cheer on your favorite teams to victory!

Book Signing August 12

Join us Friday, August 12, from 6-8pm, when 3 local authors will be signing copies of their books.  Carla Huelsmann has written an inspirational true story about life after brain surgery.  Shane Bowen pens fiction novels for adults and young adults alike.  His latest continues the Hannover series about 2 secret organizations in search of ancient treasure.  The pictorial history of Germantown was written by Mary Jansen Parrent and is a sometimes funny and always fascinating look back at life in our hometown.  Come meet the authors and enjoy refreshments.  All will have copies of their books for sale, but even if you’ve previously purchased a book, feel free to bring it in to be signed.

Summer Reading Wrap-Up Party

Hey, all you summer readers!  Don’t forget our final party is Saturday, July 16 at 11am.  We’ll have a dragon puppet show, refreshments and attendance prizes for all members of the summer reading program who attend that day.  If you haven’t completed your reading chart by then, don’t worry.  You can continue to read and earn prizes through the rest of the month.

June 11 – Summer Reading Begins!

Kids, join us Sat. June 11 from 10am – 12noon to register for this year’s summer reading program, “A Midsummer Knight’s Read”.  On that day, you can have your face painted, make a crown or princess hat to wear and get a balloon sword!  You’ll go home with a bag of goodies and everything you’ll need to start reading for fun and prizes this summer.

Donor Drive April 30

April is National Donate Life Month and we encourage everyone to consider becoming an organ, tissue and/or blood donor.  On Saturday, April 30, the library is hosting a donor drive all morning.  We’ll have snacks, registration forms and brochures where you can learn more about donations and transplants.  Nearly 5,000 people in Illinois alone are waiting for a lifesaving transplant.  Please come in and find out how your generosity could save lives!
